1910 - 1917 Provisional Money of the Mexican Revolution
We find ourselves in the Middle of the Mexican Revolution ( 1910 - 1917 ) with the likes of Porfirio Diaz who grabbed power in 1867 and didn't let go until 1911. Among the revolutionaries, there are the great men of modern Mexico, namely Carranza, Zapata & Pancho Villa. By 1914 General Carranza had already entered Mexico City when the order was given to issue new paper money of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Mexico. Here are two values ( 1 & 2 Pesos ) of these special banknotes of the Mexican Revolution, in very well circulated condition. Each shows a seated miss Mexico holding the badge of the revolution with the date '1914' with a central motif of the eagle & snaked flanked by the 2 great volcanic snow capped peaks, near Mexico City.
