This is the image that springs to mind when most people think of a Greek helmet. The first instinct of a warrior is to protect the head, and the bronze helmet was developed fairly early in the Bronze Age.

This piece of head protection, however, was meant to deflect a bow rather than absorb it. This late form with its tall horse hair crest made the warrior appear taller, more intimidating yet regal, but had very little pratical function beyond that. Made from solid red bronze 1/16 of an inch thick, the helm comes with an adjustable liner.
