Experience the early days of Nasa's Mercury program by following the the selection of the seven astronauts that were selected for the Mercury Missions. See Glenn, Shepard, Slayton, Schirra, Grissom, Cooper and Carpenter undergo the rigorous training - both physical and psychological - to become the first Americans in space. This film is approximately 27 minutes long. Follow this up with the Friendship 7, the spacecraft that put John Glenn in orbit making him the first American to circle the earth. This approximately one hour long feature covers all aspects of John Glenn's mission as well as providing a historical overview of the entire Mercury project. The total run time for this DVD is slightly less than 90 minutes.
