New York. This Royal
typewriter has two
glass panels - one on
each profile of the
machine. The serial
number of this
particular typewriter
is: S-1625829 and is
believed to be a
Royal No. 10, circa
1914-1933.
This vintage Royal
Typewriter is in very
good condition and
fully functional with
a new ribbon. The
typewriter decals and
the black enamel
paint are in overall
very good condition.
The typewriter has
been cleaned,
mechanically
adjusted, oiled and
has a new platen and
rollers. On the
right side (when
looking at
the typewriter)
bottom some of the
paint has worn off
and shows signs that
is has been
retouched. There is
some surface rust on
the lever and by the
area where the
paper is inserted.
The paint is also
worn in a couple of
areas in the back of
the typewriter under
the paper feed - this
paint looks to have
been retouched.
There are 53 keys in
all on this
typewriter.
There are also
a "1", "10", "100"
and "1000" keys in
addition to the
regular keys. This
typewriter has ribbon
reel covers. Both
work freely. The
keys on the
typewriter are glass
covered (black
background with white
letters & numbers).
On both sides of the
typewriter is an area
that has beveled
glass. No cracks in
the glass in these
areas. This
typewriter weighs 37
pounds. This is a
unique and very
handsome typewriter
that works well.
