Very Large Knightia Fossil Fish from the Green River Formation
Very Large Knightia Fossil Fish from the Green River Formation. This is a very large Knightia eocaena from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. The distinct fossil fish is well preserved and exhibits good detail. The eye socket is intact, and the fins and tail are easily seen. The upturned mouth is quite noticeable. The fish has nice dark coloration and contrasts beautifully with the cream- colored rock. This is a very large example of a Knightia from the famous Green River Shale.
