| | | England Henry VI Silver Groat - 1422-61 | Henry VI was born in 1421 and became king of England the following year. When Charles VI of France died in 1422, Henry, by the terms of the Treaty of Troyes, succeeded him as king of France ( and later married Margaret of Anjou ), and as such he was crowned in Notre Dame in 1431 ( the year of Joan of Arc's execution ). With some revolution afoot, he was deposed by Edward IV in 1461 ( War of the Roses ), re-instated in 1470, and deposed again in 1471, when he was murdered in the Tower of London.
