English Cut and Thrust Sword

English Cut and Thrust Sword. Although the rapier was prominent across Europe, the English were in general loath to give up a wider blade that could deliver a deadly cut. This sword is typical of the type used with a steel targe or dagger that would be carried by the London Home Bands that were formed in response to the constant threat from Spain. The ringed steel hilt and steel pommel balanced the sword nicely for fine fencing- type point work while the blade was wide enough to cut well. The grip is wood covered in leather. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts. Scabbard Included.
