Swept-Hilt Rapier with Grooved Bone Grip

Rapiers and rapier- play are considered by many to be the most beautiful fighting ever developed. Of course, many think that the Japanese, the Chinese, or even the European small sword are more pleasing. This is an argument that will go on forever. Regardless of which you favor, the rapier is a beautiful sword and rapier play is swift and deadly, with great skill being required to use the sword effectively. This new rapier is simple, yet quite elegant. The slim, high carbon steel blade is properly tempered to the right amount of flex and rigidity. The guard is a three ringed basket with excellent lines. Pommel adds the right balance for the blade and is fluted to compliment the grooved bone grip. A lovely, elegant, and quite deadly rapier. A worthy addition to any collection of swords. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts. Scabbard included. Circa 1590.
