| | | Irish Hand-and-a-Half Sword | DISCONTINUED
The English at one
time considered the
Irish a "Savage and
Barbarous Race", but
we suspect they
admired their taste
for beauty. Certainly
they could envy their
taste in edged
weapons, for they
created some truly
beautiful swords.
Made by Windlass
Steelcrafts.
Includes leather
scabbard.
This sword is
believed to date from
about 1475-1525 A.D.
The hilt is
characteristically
Irish, with the
flaring "S" guard.
and usual Irish ring
for the pommel.
Although the
description of this
sword is accurate, it
doesn't begin to tell
of the speed, balance
and feel of the
weapon - fast and
quick. The Irish
warriors relied on
speed and agility; it
was only natural for
their weapons to
follow suit. A
beautiful, deadly
example of the Irish
fighting mind. Hilt
that surrounds the
well-tempered high
carbon steel blade is
steel and the grip is
wood, covered with
leather.
