| | | Greek Hoplite Sword | Discontinued
As seen on The
History
Channel's "Conquest".
The Greeks might be
best known for their
achievements in
politics,
mathematics,
sculpture, literature
and philosophy, but
make no mistake, they
were brilliant and
fearsome warriors as
well.
Marathon, Thermopylae
and Salamis stand as
near-legendary
examples of strategic
and tactical
brilliance. By the
time their military
achievements ended
the Greeks had put a
dent or two in the
known world.
Although the spear
was the major weapon,
once the lines were
engaged, the sword
was brought into
play. The Greek sword
was a dual-purpose
weapon with a leaf-
shaped blade designed
for both cutting and
thrusting.
The grip in this
version is wood, just
as in the originals.
Scabbard included.
Made from high carbon
steel by Windlass
Steelcrafts.
Overall length: 29";
Blade length:
23.75"; Blade width:
2"; Weight: 2 lbs. 4
oz.
