The years of 1779- 1780 were significant as the Americans were engaged in the struggle for their Independence, aided by France. Benjamin Franklin was minister in that year too, this turned out to be the most successful help to the fledgling nation. Here is a select group of French newspapers all dated in 1779 - each reported on various aspects of the life of the times including what king Louis was up to ( decrees passed etc ), music, literature, financial data etc. Completely in French, all in very fine condition measuring approximately (open) 14 x 9 inches (35 x 23 mm)

Each Journal De Paris Newspaper consists of four pages - the front page opens up to show two additional pages inside and also includes a fourth page on the back leaf of the third page.
